Calling all Kiwis – vote now to have your say on which New Zealand Surf Life Saving Club should win an Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB).
For two weeks only, BP and Surf Life Saving New Zealand (SLSNZ) are inviting all New Zealanders to ‘Vote the Boat’ and decide which of four finalist clubs from a large pool of incredible submissions most deserve $25,000 worth of life saving equipment, thanks to BP.
BP has been in partnership with SLSNZ for 51 years and both are in it for life. Close to 56,000 lives have been saved by SLSNZ over the last 51 years with 22,700 lives saved using an IRB.
As part of its annual contribution to SLSNZ, BP donates a new IRB to one of the 74 deserving Surf Life Saving Clubs each year that help keep our New Zealand beaches safe, as well as providing an annual contribution towards fuel costs for every Surf Life Saving club around the country. This makes a huge difference to hundreds of Kiwis each year who return home safely from their beach days thanks to this vital safety equipment.
From 25 October – 8 November, you will have the chance to cast a daily vote to help decide who will win. The prize is worth $25,000 and includes an IRB hull, Mercury outboard engine, trailer, fuel bladder, rescue tube, two lifejackets (or PFDs), two helmets and a BP gift card.
Read more about the finalists above and click ‘vote now’ to see your favourite club win a new IRB.
Don’t miss the boat, vote today!
IRBs are not only used for beach patrols but are a vital part of emergency management, often called upon for search and rescue activities and used in floods and other emergencies year-round.
*Voting closes on Friday 8 November
